LIP VOLTAGE: Before and After

25/10/2015

In any makeup look there is always a 'focus' point, whether it be the eyes, lips or even the eyebrows. When I make my lips the focus point of a make-up look I always think 'The BIGGER The BETTER' and in the past, lip injections have been something I have considered (as my lips are slightly uneven), but grudge paying hundreds of pounds just for a little bit of filler. However in August last year I heard about this product 'Lip Voltage', which is a concentrated formula that you apply sparingly (and may I stress SPARINGLY, this is NOT a lip gloss) to the areas of your lips you want to appear more plump, or enlarged. Of course, I immediately ran to a local Salon in my town to pick this product up!

WHAT IS IT & HOW DOES IT WORK?

Lip Voltage comes with a tube of what appears to be a clear lip gloss, a small sheet of instructions (which I highly recommend reading) and a small plastic syringe which holds the 'concentrated' plumping product. Similar to most 'plumping' glosses Lip Voltage gives a tingling sensation after it has been applied, this circulates the blood flow to the lips and opens the pores for quicker penetration, leaving that desired plump effect. As to how it works, the product contains a peptide and collagen, once mixed this rehydrates the bodies natural fluids, leading to the tingling sensation that I just described.

DOES IT REALLY WORK & HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Like I said before, I originally bought this in August last year and only ran out about one month ago. You need very little of the formula in the syringe, and once it is mixed in with the gloss it lasts about a week or so being used daily, before needing to add a little more. You can either add 0.1ml for a slight tingling sensation and subtle plump, 0.2ml for a medium, or 0.3ml for an extremely hot sensation which will plump your lips, amazingly! Me being me, I went all out and tried the 0.3, but seriously, I would highly recommend adding 0.1ml or 0.2ml to start off with, as the first 10 minutes with 0.3ml BURNS LIKE HELL! Though in my experience, you do receive those desired results which you can then go and add colour on top of. The plump effect lasts up to around 12 hours (though it is advertised to last up to 24). But YES, this product does really work and is a brilliant addition to any make-up collection! This product cost me £18 and I have seen it is roughly the same price online, though when I went to re-purchase this I was informed they have brought out a NEW version for around £20/£21 which comes pre-mixed, so no measuring required!

Lip Voltage is also favourite among celebrities and it is very clear why. If you want to or have tried this product, please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

As always thanks for reading and I will see you next Sunday.
