Sweet & Simple Banana Pancake Recipe

27/3/2016

Hey guys, this week I'm writing something completely different, I wanted to share this absolutely gorgeous, low calorie Banana Pancake Recipe. I often go through phases of making these & just think it is the perfect treat for a guest in the summer.
Picture
INGREDIENTS
(Makes 12 Pancakes)-
-140g of Self Raising Flour
-1 tsp of Baking Powder
-2 Ripe Bananas
-2 Large Eggs
-125ml Milk
-1tsp Caster Sugar
-Optional Berries for toppings

STEP 1
Firstly take 1 of your ripe Bananas & mash it in a bowl. Now take your 2nd Banana & slice into thin slices then add into the same bowl as the mashed Banana. In a separate bowl mix the Flour, Baking Powder & the Caster Sugar.
STEP 2
Separate the mixture to form a well in the centre & pour in the Bananas, Eggs & Milk. Whisk to a smooth batter consistency to avoid any flour lumps.

STEP 3
Heat a little bit of butter in a large non-stick frying pan, once sizzling using a ladle add small drops of pancake batter to the pan, leaving a little space between each one as they will spread. Cook each pancake for roughly 2 minutes on a medium heat, once you see the pancake start to bubble flip it over & cook for 1 more minute.

STEP 4

The final outcome should looked puffed up & Golden. Take your pancakes to your plate & add some berries, caster sugar (& Golden syrup if want to go all out).

There you have it, my Simple 4 Step Banana Pancake Recipe. Let me know if you give these a shot & if there's anything else you'd like me to share.
Thanks for reading.

5 Products I Regret Buying!

20/3/2016

It's rare that I ever really dislike a beauty product, I always manage to find a use for something as I simply hate waste. But this list here are 5 things I simply did not like & thought were a waste of money.
(Please note, I'm not saying these brands are no good as I do use products by all of them, it is just the products listed.)
Picture
JOHN FRIEDA GO BLONDER LIGTHENING SPRAY
At the end of last year I started lightening my hair, trying to achieve a blonde colour, but like most blondes I just couldn't go a full 6 weeks with dark black roots! This product is to de sprayed into damp towel dried hair, then dried with a hair dryer. Using this for a few weeks if supposed to lighten your hair to a nice, blended colour. This product literally fried my hair whilst my hair was still in decent condition. Though it did lighten the hair, it lightened it as you would expect a 'Shop bought Hair-dye' would do; to a un-wearable, orange/yellow colour. As a hair stylist I strongly recommend you avoid this product or consult YOUR hairstylist before using as it does have the potentially to really damage your hair.

MUA LUXE LIQUID LIPSTICK
Before Liquid Lipsticks became a huge part of our daily routines, MUA was one of the first I seen in the drug store and bought it immediately for £2. Their glossy lipsticks are fabulous & always full of pigment so I had high expectations. This liquid lipstick IS full of pigment & is a gorgeous colour but It takes FOREVER to dry! Once it does dry you can't really do anything, if you talk, or have a drink the lipstick starts crumbling off and turns into a messy goop that you then have to try and remove. Very disappointing.
However I do highly recommend
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks.

W7 PHOTOSHOOT BUDGE PROOF FOUNDATION
I really have no recollection in my mind of buying this product, so if anybody knows anymore about it, let me know in the comments. I tried this out after finding it deep in my makeup collection & thought I had discovered the philosophers stone when I read the bottle. This is nothing special. This gives you zero to -10 in coverage & gives you a brilliantly oily (and slightly crumbly) layer on your face. I would definitely save your money by boycotting this one.

Picture
MUA TURQUOISE EYELINER
Again, as this is an MUA product we expect greatness for a low price! I had been filming a Drug Store vs High End Eyeshadow look & needed a dupe for MAC's 'New Marine' Eyeliner so i chose this guy. When I tried applying this to my water-line it literally felt like jabbing twigs into my eyes. I think I have splinters. Once you're done jabbing yourself in the eye there is still no colour anywhere to be seen. It took an extreme amount of pressure for me to get a slight swatch. But don't get me wrong, I love MUA as a brand & use their liners & brow pencils frequently. But the turquoise just seemed like a bit of a failure (unless I picked up a faulty one).

Picture
RIMMELL LONDON WONDERFULL MASCARA (WITH ARGAN OIL)
When I was in High School I really abused my eyelashes as much as somebody could. I would layer & layer them in Mascara (and occasionally apply falsies on top) then of a night I would spend about 15 minutes sitting removing glue, goop and colour from my lashes. Doing for 2 years caused them to almost completely fall out, so when I recently started using Mascara more I opted for this one as it had Argan Oil in the ingredients. However, as a mascara this just not do anything. I really had to sit for a good 5 minutes putting on layers to end up with a soft, natural look. Though this product let me down there are some brand new amazing looking L'oreal Mascaras that I can't wait to test out!

That is it for the products I regret buying, are there any other no-go's I should know about?
Thanks for reading.

Secrets To Faster Growing Hair!

14/3/2016

So here's what's going on, people ask me almost every day if there are any secrets or short-cuts to longer, healthier hair and realistically I have to say...no, HOWEVER, all hope is not lost, there are numerous things you can do that are reported to help speed up hair growth & keep your locks in beautiful condition.
REGULAR HAIR APPOINTMENTS
This seems pretty self explanatory, but a surprising percentage of the population admit they don't get their hair cut as often as they probably should, many people leaving it over a year! Though you may be growing your hair, if your split ends aren't maintained they could split further up the hair thus needing a lot more cut off in the long run.

SEA KELP

Sea Kelp is a natural supplement you can purchase over the counter, i first discovered this after a horrendous haircut & was extremely eager to get my long flowing hair back! The many nutrients from these natural capsules are supposedly the magic behind the hair growth & I personally did experience a boost after using these for a couple of months. Though it is HIGHLY recommended that you consult your GP before consuming.

Picture
CONDITIONING TREATMENTS
Again, another really simple trick to do in your own home. If you go to a local Beauty Salon or supply store you can purchase a great quality, affordable intense hair mask. Simply warm the conditioning mask in the microwave for 10 seconds and apply as normal, leave to absorb as long as necessary then rinse. Do this 1-2 times per week, this is especially useful if you like to regularly colour your hair or have used a lot of bleach in the past.

NATURAL OILS
Though it always feels amazing once you've just washed, dried & styled your hair, it is not always the best idea to do this routine every day. A great component for healthy, fast growing hair are the natural oils that come from it, by washing your hair every single days you are taking away the natural oils and drying out the hair. A great tool to invest in is Dry Shampoo, look & feel fresh whilst getting an extra day or two out of your hair.
Picture
VITAMIN B
Another hidden gem is Vitamin B. Obviously there are a lot of additional benefits it just so happens hair growth is one of them. Health Experts have said paired with a healthy diet it could definitely speed up the hair growth process. Though there are additional Vitamins that could help as well, Vitamin B seems to be the most successful. Remember, supplements aren't always necessary, Vitamin B is also found in Bananas, Potatoes, Poultry & many other things!

These are the best tips & hints I know for long, healthy hair growth, I recommend them to clients all the time! Thanks for reading.
